Does the Ikon Pass price rise every October?

The early-October step has happened before: Ikon Pass prices also increased on October 9, 2025, for the 2025-26 season. The pattern is the same as the Epic Pass and most multi-resort passes: the cheapest price is the spring launch, there are one or more mid-year increases, and the final price is whatever you pay in the weeks before the season opens. Waiting for a fall sale rarely pays off, because the price schedule is built to climb toward the start of the season.

Ikon Pass vs. Ikon Base Pass: what the price difference buys

•
Ikon Pass ($1,449): the full pass, with the fewest restrictions and the most days across the network.
•
Ikon Base Pass ($1,019): about $430 less, but it comes with blackout dates (typically around holidays) and limits at some destinations.
•
Which one is right depends on when you actually ski. If you can only go midweek or outside holiday periods, the Base Pass can be the better value; if your trips fall on Christmas week or holiday weekends, check the blackout calendar before you choose it.

Is it worth buying an Ikon Pass? A quick break-even check

1.
Look up the window price of a single-day lift ticket at the resort you'd ski most often.
2.
Divide the pass price by that number. That's how many days you need to ski for the pass to break even.
3.
Be honest about how many days you'll really ski. If it's more than the break-even number, the pass wins; if it's close or lower, buy single-day tickets (often cheaper when bought in advance online).
4.
Check that your resorts are on the pass and whether any have day limits on the tier you're considering.

Ikon Pass or Epic Pass?

They cover different resorts, so price alone doesn't settle it. Pick the pass that includes the resorts you'd really visit, then compare price. Our guide to the best time to buy an Epic Pass or Ikon Pass explains how the two networks differ and how Indy Pass fits in.
